When you receive a calendar invite via email, Apple and Google "helpfully" place the event(s) on your calendar for you to accept/decline (and serve as a placeholder so you don't schedule something else there). This is great in theory, but now spammers/phishers send calendar invites that then automatically show up on your calendar, along with a "helpful" link to see more details. This link is what actually contains the spam/malware/phishing page.
- Do not click on any links or other sections of the spam appointment
- If you are able to, just click Decline on the appointment and mark the email as spam
- If you accidentally accepted the appointment, delete the appointment/event from the calendar
- Occasionally, you'll manage to accidentally "subscribe" to a calendar, and these will just keep popping up over and over. In that case, you have to go in and unsubscribe from the calendar (see links below).
Outlook Web: Go to Calendar -> Add calendar -> Add personal calendars -> select "Remove" to disconnect the calendar

Unsubscribing from calendars in iOS:

- Check to see if you need to unsubscribe from the calendar to prevent future spam events from being added
- In the Calendar app, select "Calendars" at the bottom

- If you see an unfamiliar calendar select the red "i" next to it

- In this menu, scroll to the bottom and select "Delete Calendar"

- If that doesn't work and you're still receiving calendar invites
- Open Settings
- Search for Calendar -> select "Calendar"

- Select Calendar Accounts

- See if there's any Calendar accounts that look unfamiliar

- If there are click on it to open
- Then select "Remove Account"
